Upcoming Events

What: 2016 Southern Arizona Salsa & Tequila Challenge
When: Saturday, August 20th at 7:00pm
Where: La Encantada Shopping Center, northwest corner of Skyline Drive and Campbell Avenue

This is a 21+ event.

Though more than a month away, make sure you save the date for this year’s Southern Arizona Salsa and Tequila Challenge. Come support the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance and the Community Food Bank as 75 of the region’s top chefs and restaurants compete to be named champion.

A judging panel of culinary experts and enthusiasts (how do I get this job?!) will select winners in 12 categories such as Best Traditional Salsa, Most Creative Cocktail, Best Food Pairing and Judges’ Choice in both Salsa and Tequila categories. There will be People’s Choice categories in which the participants can also win first, second and third place in – though let’s be real, I think we’re the real winners here.

Live music from Ballet Folklorico La Paloma, a colorful and energetic group of performers, ought to further spice up the evening with some salsa and merengue (unfortunately not edible).

Your ticket to the event ($55) includes chips, salsa tastings, tequila cocktail sampling and shooters, menu pairings, live music and dance performances, cultural activities, and more – so basically, you’re going to have the time of your life. Tickets will only be available for pre-purchase, there will be no day-of ticket sales. Buy your tickets here.

See you there!
