There’s one more week left before the kickoff of Agave Heritage Week, and over the next few days we’ll be highlighting the many events you can attend. First up: the classes and seminars being offered over the course of the week, giving attendees an opportunity to learn more about agave spirits and cocktails. For a calendar overview of events, see our first Agave Heritage Week post.


What: Tucson USBG Educational Seminars
When: May 5th, 2016
Where: Maynards Drawing Room

The Tucson United States Bartenders’ Guild (USBG) will host two educational seminars on May 5th.

All Things Agave
May 5th, 5:30pm
This class will feature Aaron Defeo, Layla Lynn, and world-renowned Master Mezcalier Sergio Inurriago.

Agave-Based Cocktails
May 5th, 6:45 pm
This class will feature Aaron DeFeo & Layla Lynn. 
Purchase tickets here.  

Price is $20 per guest, per class. Guests will receive a commemorative t-shirt, a traditional mezcal tasting glass, and samples of a variety of agave based spirits.

What: Agave 101 Seminar during the 8th Annual Agave Fest
When: May 7th, 6-7 pm
Where: Hotel Congress

Tucson, AZ 85701

The 8th Annual Agave Fest at The Hotel Congress allows attendees to sample a wide variety of agave-based spirits alongside foods originating from the different regions for each spirit.

Included with with price of admissions to Agave Fest, attendees have the option to attend the Agave 101 Seminar, where Master Mezcalier Sergio Inurriago will lead an in-depth discussion concerning all things agave.

While Agave 101 is included in the price of admission to Agave Fest ($35 in advance or $40 at the door; tickets available here), seating is limited and capped at 35 people. Early reservations are recommended. RSVP to marketing@hotelcongress.com
