Chef Janos is at it again! DOWNTOWN Kitchen + Cocktails is in the midst of the first leg of their annual Around the Globe summer menu series. Inspired by Tucson’s own freshly-minted status as a UNESCO City of Gastronomy, they will proudly feature the cuisine of four of our fellow international Cities of Gastronomy:
Rasht, Gila Province, Iran
Ensenada, Baja California
Chef Janos and his culinary team will hold a cooking class and pop up dinner at the Carriage House, Janos’ event space and cooking school, to introduce each tour to the public and to further inform and engage. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about each of these UNESCO Cities of Gastronomy and get to sample many of the dishes from each of these international food havens.
The first tour, inspired by Parma, Italy, began on May 24th and will run through July 11. DOWNTOWN Chef Jerry Alday, alongside the restaurant’s culinary team, has created contemporary interpretations of classic dishes from the Emilia Romagna region of Italy, an area known for its refined cities and rich gastronomy.
