What: Biosphere 2 Earth Day!
When: Saturday, April 22nd from 9:00am to 6:00pm
Where: Biosphere 2, 32540 S. Biosphere Rd., Oracle, Arizona 85623
Make the drive to Biosphere 2 this Saturday to celebrate Earth Day! This event is perfect for the entire family and will be as educational as it will be engaging. Biosphere 2 will enchant you and your family with ladybug releases, scuba diving demonstrations, and even a stroll on the beach with thousands of hermit crabs (without the use of sorcery!). There will be a moderated panel discussion on topics such as Earth, Water, Energy, and Food. Scientists and speakers from all over the nation will be present and participating.
I was glad to see a food panel being ranked alongside earth, water, and energy since we all know how important food is. Biosphere 2 will officially bestow Tucson with the honor of being the first U.S. city to be recognized by UNESCO as a World City of Gastronomy. There will be food and culture presentations from 10:00am to 12:30pm, so feel free to skip breakfast. And all day on the Biosphere 2 lawn you’ll find local chefs, growers, producers, distillers, ranchers, innovators and food!
End this beautiful day at the world’s largest living research center with a sunset concert by Calexico, a local and nationally-celebrated band known for “crossing musical barriers, embracing a multitude of styles, variety in instrumentation, and well-cultivated signature sounds”.
For $32 you can be a VIP ticket holder and get VIP concert seating as well as an Annual Pass to Biosphere 2. For other ticket information, or to purchase yours, click here. Hope to see you there!
