You won’t have mushroom left in your stomach after indulging in the Blended Burger Project at Charro Steak. The Blended Burger Project is a James Beard project that strives to make burgers better by blending ground meat with chopped mushrooms, creating an incredibly delicious patty that’s healthier and more sustainable for the planet. These hand built burgers will consist of 25% mushrooms and 75% house ground grass-fed beef.

There are 6 Blended Burgers currently on the menu at Charro Steak and 5 of them are named after food journalists. Unfortunately you won’t be able to find an Addie collaboration (yet), but you will find a Russell Melt Down (Matt Russell), Tropical Storm Andi (Andi Berlin), Biggers’ Cover Story (Doug Biggers, Publisher of Edible Baja Arizona), Jackie’s Bob (Jackie Alpers), and Adam’s Wake Up Call (Adam Lehrman). You’ll also find  Charro Steak’s official entry into the Blended Burger project: the Tucson Temptation Burger.

Tucson Temptation Burger
Blended burger recipe with Sonoran mushrooms, prickly pear bbq, crispy shoestring nopalitos, roasted green chile infused white cheddar, local tomato & Tucson’s own Merchant’s Garden Red Leaf Lettuce

Tropical Storm Andi
Blended Burger with mesquite grilled pork belly, queso frita pancake, and pineapple & jalapeno jelly on a local jalapeno-cheddar bun

Biggers’ Cover Story
Chef Gary’s famous grass fed meatloaf served center truck style on avocado toast with Sonoran mushroom demi-glace

Jackie’s Bob
Original “Estilo Charro” burger with a layer of melted manchego cheese & grilled pepper medley

Adam’s Wake Up Call
Deconstructed chile relleno, egg over easy, AZ grass fed beef chorizo, and cheddar on a corn meal bun

The Russell Melt Down
Sonoran Mushroom Co. mushrooms, melted manchego, wine soaked onions, grilled toast

Wash it down with a refreshing local cocktail such as the Del Bac Burro made with Del Bac whiskey cilantro, ginger beer, agave, and citrus splash.
