What: “Can You Dig This?” Community Screening
When: Friday, October 27 at 6:00pm
Where: Las Milpitas Community Farm, 2405 S. Cottonwood Lane, Tucson, AZ

With everything that’s happening in the world right now, we could all use a good dose of hope and inspiration. Lucky for us, Pima County Food Alliance and Las Milpitas de Cottonwood have partnered up to host a free community screening of the documentary “Can You Dig This?” about the powerful impact of a community garden in South-Central Los Angeles. (Watch the trailer here.)

Before the film, you’ll have the opportunity to hear from Flowers and Bullets, a wonderful Tucson-based organization that promotes a sustainable way of living by “sharing skills, promoting place-based connections in the barrio, and listening to each other’s stories.” Flowers and Bullets is doing amazing work in the community, and serves to show the positive impact that community members can have when they come together.

And, because no event is truly complete without good food, Geronimo’s Revenge food truck will be at the screening. Geronimo’s Revenge Owner Jeronimo “Moe” Madril is a member of Flowers and Bullets, and has committed to sourcing local produce and offering healthier menu options. You can read more about Madril’s story here.

Step away from the chaos of everyday life to come together with your community and get inspired to impact change within it.

See you there!
