What: Edible Shade Mesquite Pancake Breakfast
When: Sunday, March 26, from 09:00am to 12:00pm
Where: 1137 N. Dodge Blvd. Tucson, AZ 85716
Sunday mornings are for pancake eating… and live music, artisan markets, and learning activities – all of which can be found at the Edible Shade Pancake Breakfast! Celebrate the delicious shade of mesquite, pomegranate, olive, and other edible native trees as you enjoy hot-off-the-griddle mesquite pancakes. This is a family friendly event; the little ones will love exploring the Raindrop Retreat/La Casa del Chorito playhouse as you explore sustainability practices in action at Watershed Management Group’s Living Lab and Learning Center.
The entire family will be able to enjoy live music on the Garden Plaza!
9:00 – 10:30 Kevin Haston
10:30 – 12:00 MojoGrass
With the purchase of your $7 ticket you’ll receive 3 pancakes and a drink. There will be gluten free and vegan options available as well. Drink options include coffee, tea, and juice. Exo Roast Co. will be serving a special rainwater toddy served in a cistern (kidding!), and Peddler on the Path will be serving hot espresso drinks as well.
You’ll want to be one of the first 100 guests to this event so that you a) get your pancakes sooner, and b) receive a free shade tree courtesy of Tucson Electric Power. That’s right: the first 100 guests that bring their TEP bill can select between a Foothills Palo Verde, Sweet Katie Burgundy Desert Willow, or Netleaf Hackberry provided by Civano Nursery.
To buy tickets, click here. There are only 500 tickets available and, unlike previous years, tickets will not be available at the door once the event is sold out. Make a gift of $50 or more and take home a bag of custom mesquite heritage wheat pancake mix – that way every Sunday can be Edible Shade Sunday!
