Farmers' Market Finds

String Beans aren’t only green; at local markets you’ll often find this summertime staple colored deep purple. You can use these pretty purple beans any way you might use the green variety, such as nestled in this Salad Niçoise, in this hearty Lentil Potato Salad, or on the grill with other summer veggies.

Waxy New Potatoes, dug straight from the ground and placed on your local farmer’s market table, are a wonderful way to add vibrant color and intrigue to a potato salad, honey mustard roasted potato wedges, and some crispy baked fries. Buy them in bulk and store them in a cool, dry place to have local potatoes all year long.

Cherry Tomatoes are one of summer’s best snacks. Sized perfectly for popping in your mouth, they’re sweet, juicy, and healthy. Add them to a cheese board, use them to flavor this summery pasta dish, or sprinkle them on this wonderful summer salad

Newly harvested Sweet Potatoes are dense and sweet. Stuff the versatile tubers with pecan-oat crumble, use them to fill your favorite local tortillas, or make them into new-age nachos

Summer Squash isn’t just about the zucchini; it comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors! Toss it into this summer fried rice, grill it for a chop salad, or roast it for the ultimate pasta salad
