What: Night of the Jaguar Celebration
When: February 10th (6:00pm-9:00pm)
Where: Barrio Brewing Company
800 East 16th Street
Tucson, AZ 85719
On February 10, Barrio Brewing Company will release a new beer, inspired by a very special local celebrity. Barrio’s new brew, the Santa Rita Jefeweizen, is named after El Jefe, the only known wild jaguar in the United States. El Jefe has been spotted on wildlife cameras in the Santa Rita Mountains over 100 times since 2012.
“We wanted a beer that was as fierce and inspiring as our local jaguar, and I think we’ve got it in the Santa Rita Jefeweizen,” says Dennis Arnold, owner of Barrio Brewing Company.
Come enjoy locally-brewed beer, free snacks, jaguar art, and raffles on February 10 from 6:00pm-9:00pm. You could be sipping the new catnip-infused hefeweizen a mere 30 miles away from El Jefe himself. The event will feature never before seen photos and footage of El Jefe, as well as information on how you can help protect northern jaguars.
02/02/16: The Center for Biological Diversity has just released a never-before-seen video of El Jefe. Check it out!
