What: La Noche Del Tigre
When: Friday, September 23rd from 5:30 to 8:30pm
Where: Hamilton Distillers, 2106 Forbes Blvd #103, Tucson, AZ 85745
Things are going to get catty on Friday! In honor of the only known wild jaguar living in the United States, Hamilton Distillers has produced a special edition whiskey called El Jefe. Last year, middle school students at Felizardo Valencia Middle School chose the name El Jefe, Spanish for “the boss”, to honor the jaguar’s place at the top of the food chain. El Jefe has been repeatedly photographed by remote sensor cameras in the Santa Rita Mountains outside of Tucson. Videos of El Jefe went viral earlier this year when the Center for Biological Diversity shared a video starring the one and only, El Jefe.
Hamilton Distillers is releasing this special edition whiskey at their release party dubbed “La Noche del Tigre.” This unsmoked whiskey has been aged in a 30 gallon American Oak cask. The cask-strength expression will yield approximately 130 bottles – and that’s it. I’d make a reservation if I were you.
La Noche del Tigre is open to the public with a reservation. Call the distillery directly at (520) 628-9244 to reserve your spot for the event. There will be live music, a food truck, a bar serving cocktails featuring spirits from both Hamilton Distillers and Three Wells Distilling, as well as a discussion on Arizona jaguars and their habitat.
