I’m Paige Carpenter and I am one of Edible Baja Arizona’s summer interns. I am going into my fourth and final year at the University of Arizona, where I am currently studying both journalism and communications. But, you could say that I “study” food as well.
While writing is undoubtedly my passion, I am also a self-proclaimed foodie. Food has always been a huge part of my life; I find searching for new recipes and re-creating them at home therapeutic and relaxing. I love cooking new recipes, even the ones that inevitably become disasters and funny stories to tell later, as well as serving my friends and family some of my personal favorite recipes.
One thing on my college bucket list that I want to accomplish is eating at as many restaurants in Tucson as possible. This has become an adventure in itself, full of good memories and even better food!
Ultimately, my life revolves around food. I wake up and immediately think about what to make for breakfast, where to go for lunch, or something new I can try for dinner. My love of food translates to my job at Blanco Tacos & Tequila, where I spend most of my shifts daydreaming about queso and guacamole. I am extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to intern at Edible Baja Arizona, where I get to combine my two biggest passions: food and writing.
