What: Sweet Charity Dessert Challenge
When: November 18, 2016 at 6:00pm
Where: Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, 7000 N Resort Dr., Tucson, AZ 85750

Tucson will be a little sweeter on November 18th as SAACA hosts their dessert challenge to raise money for arts education in Southern Arizona. The Sweet Charity Dessert Challenge was started almost five years ago and has since grown into a popular event that brings together local bakers, chefs, students, mixologists, and home cooks. The Sweet Charity Dessert Challenge aims to raise money while also shedding light on all of the local talent that Southern Arizona holds.

The nonprofit is dedicated to preserving and advancing the Arts and hopes to do that by providing opportunities and leadership in communities. SAACA is supported by donors, grants, and special events such as the Sweet Charity Dessert Challenge. Events like this not only recognize local culinary artists, but also raise funds SAACA needs to continue supporting and advancing arts—specifically arts education.

The competition will be broken down into three categories: desserts, cocktails, and best overall. Within those categories are subcategories, which will each be given a People’s Choice BEST OF Award. This event brings together chefs, bakers, and restaurants to compete for top titles. Aside from the competition, there will be more than 40 desserts with cocktail, beer, and wine samplings. There will also be a silent auction and music at the event.

All ages are welcome. Tickets for the events are $45 and include libation and samplings from over 25 chefs, bakers, and libation masters. They are available for purchase until sold out. Raffle tickets are also available for purchase for the chance to win gift cards and gift baskets. For more information, visit the SAACA website.
