What: A Spanish Summer Night at Flying Leap Vineyards
When: Saturday, July 22 from 6:00-10:00pm
Where: Flying Leap Estate Winery, 342 Elgin Rd., Elgin, Arizona 85611
Can’t get the time off to take a trip to Spain this summer? Not to worry! Flying Leap Vineyards’ Spanish Summer Night will fulfill all of your Spanish food and wine desires. On July 22, head to Arizona wine country, where summer highs range from 75-85º, for a cool night of local wine, authentic Spanish food, and live Flamenco music.
At their Southern Arizona vineyards, Flying Leap Vineyards grows four varieties of wine grapes that are indigenous to Spain: Grenache, Graciano, Mourvedre and Tempranillo. These beloved grapes (and the wine that they produce) will serve as the inspiration for A Spanish Summer Night. Enjoy pours of Flying Leap Vineyards’ 2014 Estate Tempranillo and 2015 Spanish Fly wines, as well as fresh sangria, under the stars as you nibble Manchego cheese, rustic hearth-baked breads, olive tapenade, smoked Jamón de Serrano imported from Spain, Spanish tortillas with real Romesco sauce, and endless platters of Spanish almond cookies. Be sure to save room for a plate of authentic Spanish paella, cooked over an open citrus wood and pinecone fire in a pan that is 60-inches in diameter.
If you’re worried that the drinks and food won’t keep you busy, don’t! Tucson’s own DeGrazia will play “both relaxing and upbeat Spanish string music and Flamenco” as you browse colorful works of art created by regional artists. This Spanish Summer Night is sure to be a lasting memory.
