When: Friday, April 15, 2016, starting at 6:00pm
Where: The Loft Cinema
3233 E Speedway Blvd
Tucson, AZ 85716
The fun starts at 6:00pm at The Loft Cinema this Friday! As part the opening night festivities for City of Gold, an ethnic cooking documentary from Pulitzer Prize-winning food critic Jonathan Gold, a variety of local food trucks will be on hand to satiate moviegoers’ appetites. Choose from Purple Tree Acai Blends, Vina Baguette, Sarge’s Cheesecakes or Tucson Fat Noodle, and wash it all down with free samples of Historic Brewing Company’s Undercover Cucumber.
City of Gold uses the kaleidoscopic lens of ethnic cooking to explore the city of Los Angeles and examine the gastronomical side of America’s melting pot.
Through encounters with Oaxacan grasshopper soup, hand-cut tonkotsu ramen, and pad see ew, Gold documents the stories of immigrants and their family recipes as they seek to build their American Dream.
