The event will be hosted by FoodInRoot, a local organization best known for its many farmers markets in town.

Learn more about the environmental, health and financial benefits of choosing to support plant-based initiatives. There will be cooking demos, vendors with vegan food for purchase and free food samples. Multiple raffle giveaways will be held throughout the day.

There will also be talks with numerous nationally-renowned guest chefs and health advocates telling their own personal experiences with plant-based diets and activism. Speakers include Robert Cheeke, Emily Barwick, Katie Cantrell, Mark Devries and local health advocate Haile Thomas.

This is a family-friendly event, with face-painting and other activities just for kids.

Check out VegFest Tucson on Facebook for the latest updates on the event.

Admission is $10. Student tickets are $8. Children under 12 get in for free. Ten percent of ticket proceeds benefit City High School, a small school in downtown Tucson.
